Pixel-graphics dark-mystery action-adventure!

You awaken on an island next to a grave. Your grave. A noose hangs from a tree limb nearby, you have the distinct impression that some time ago you were hanging from it. There is some dark mystery at play, and solving it will solve the riddle of who and what you truly are.

As Above is inspired by the old CGA graphics and adventure games from the 80s and 90s. It will have a focus on action over obtuse puzzle solving, as you uncover the truth as you explore the island, its locations, and interact with the inhabitants. You will find items and gain abilities that will allow you to access areas you could not previously. The game will also have multiple endings.

This is a playable prototype. You can get certain objects, like an axe and gun, and explore the world -- several buildings are accessible. Enemies are in but still a bit buggy. They are basic, and there is no world persistence for them -- so you go into a building, go out, it resets them. But they will roam about the place when they don't know where the player is. There is also a framework for environmental storytelling, a dialogue and quest system.

Use the menu (ESC / Backspace) for options, player controls and to track story progress -- this will let you know when you have found everything to be found in this version.
